Journal of Social Computing Launch

We are excited to announce the launch of a new IEEE journal–the Journal of Social Computing (or jOsOcO–thanks to Meg Young & Peaks Krafft) with some good friends (thanks Jar-der Luo, Xiaoming Fu)! It is free and open access (thanks Tsinghua University)!

Here is Prof. James Evans’ take on what social computing could be (“Social Computing Unhinged”: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9241509) and our invitation to submit your least boring, weirdest, most awesome stuff about how computation transforms the social world, or how the social world computes itself (e.g., economy, social order), or how to imagine technologies that amplify the goods (e.g., diversity, prosperity, peace) and dampen the bads (e.g., dominance, inequality, violence), or anything that moves the roiling interface of social and computation: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9243157
